Taking care of our surroundings is part of who we are.
Our commitment
Our family business, with more than 30 years in the tourism sector, has taught us to value and celebrate the daily effort, teamwork, shared joy, affection and respect for our environment and mutual loyalty to our customers.
Environmental policy
Most of our hotels are certified according to the sustainability requirements of the BIOSPHERE Responsible Tourism Institute, a globally recognized hotel sustainability certificate. In addition, we adhere to sustainable internal quality standards and compliance with current legal regulations.

ALEGRIA Group Initiatives

Some of the actions we have implemented in our hotels and head offices

Replacing them with glass, paper or recyclable packaging alternatives (glass water bottles, paper bags, paper canes, glass or reusable cups, wooden cutlery, paper picnic containers...).
Shampoo and shower gel are replaced with refillable dispensers throughout the chain. In addition, all our toiletries are made from recycled paper and plastic, with paraben-free content and not tested on animals.
In most of our hotels and offices, which allows us to produce and consume green energy. Moreover, we currently have green energy certificates issued by the CNMC that guarantee the 100% renewable origin of the energy consumed in our establishments.
Thanks to the installation of aerators in the faucets of the rooms and common bathrooms. In addition, through the information provided to the client and their collaboration, we reduce the frequency of washing bath towels.
We encourage individual servings at our buffets. We have also largely eliminated single-serving doses of sauces or other condiments, to reduce the production of single-use waste.

Committed to society (CSR)

We carry out various practices that seek to generate a positive and lasting impact on the community around us.

We believe that sports are a powerful tool for personal and community development. Through our support, we seek to encourage a healthy lifestyle and the spirit of collaboration.
Since 2017, we have been celebrating the ALEGRIA With You solidarity day in all our hotels, where we raise funds through various activities thanks to the participation of our entire Alegria Team. The proceeds are given in full to an NGO whose values are aligned with the principles of our company. Some of the NGOs we have collaborated with are: Pallapupas, Save the Children, WWF, Food Bank, Asdent....
We make various donations, whether monetary contributions or collaborations in our hotels, in order to contribute our grain of sand in our society and environment. We are collaborators and sponsors of: Fundació Pascual Maragall, Nocturna Malgrat de Mar, Fundació Oncolliga Calella....

As part of its commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions and combating global warming, ALEGRIA Group has carried out the following actions:

Hotel ALEGRIA Mariner

Installation of aerothermal system to improve energy efficiency.

Subsidized amount: 32,179.50 €

Likewise, the ALEGRIA Group, in its commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, has developed a series of actions aimed at reducing its environmental impact and promoting the use of renewable energies in its establishments. In this line, photovoltaic installations have been implemented in the hotels, allowing greater energy autonomy and a significant reduction in CO emissions. The subsidized installations are:

Actions funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU in Catalonia:

  • Hotel ALEGRIA Caprici Verd with 28,45 kWp of installed power, an investment of 23.492,00 € and an aid of 9.396,80 €.

  • Hotel ALEGRIA Fenals Mar with 16,35 kWp of installed power, an investment of 14.878,50 € and an aid of 5.207,48 €.

  • Hotel (ThePlace) Mar Mediterrania with 77,39 kWp of installed power, an investment of 67.144.00 € and an aid of 26,857.60 €.

  • Central Offices with 87.20 kWp of installed power, an investment of 79,352.00 € and an aid of 31.740.80 €.

  • Hotel ALEGRIA Sun Village with 21.25 kWp of installed power, an investment of 19,342.05 € and an aid of 6,688.50 €.

  • Hotel ALEGRIA Cartago Nova with 5.26 kWp of installed power, an investment of 11,902.80 € and an aid of 4,140.50 €.

  • Hotel ALEGRIA Maripins with 44.15 kWp of installed power, an investment of 40,171.95 € and an aid of 14,060.18 €.

  • Hotel (ThePlace) Palacio Mojacar with 16.35 kWp of installed power, an investment of €50,960.00 and an aid of €17,836.00.

  • Hotel ALEGRIA Costa Ballena Aquafun with 77.39 kWp of installed power, an investment of €62,755.00 and an aid of €21,964.25.

  • Hotel ALEGRIA Colonial Mar Aquafun with 87.20 kWp of installed power, an investment of €88,382.00 and an aid of €30,933.70.

  • Hotel ALEGRIA Cabo De Gata with 21.25 kWp of installed power, an investment of €82,650.00 and an aid of €20,662.50.

  • Hotel Portomagno with 28.45 kWp of installed power, an investment of €70,530.25 and an aid of €17,632.56.

Note: Hotel Portomagno was part of the group at the time of the grant application and award, although it is no longer managed by the chain.
